SKINCARE ROUTINE FT EMMA HARDIE CLEANSING BALM
July 04, 2014I don't know about you but I find there is nothing more pleasing than coming home from a long day at work, and wiping off all your makeup and letting your skin just BREATHE. It's just so so pleasing and makes me feel like I really am home and can now relax. My skin has been amazing lately and I really do feel it's down to this few little products so I just wanted to give them a little 'big up' and share my current routine with you.
The reason you don't see many products is because surprisingly .... i don't use many when it comes to skincare. I find simple, is simply just better. This is generally more of a nighttime routine but I do use 1 or 2 of these in the morning before I face the day.
I used the gorgeous Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm to banish all makeup from my face. I do this with a full face as I feel the balm really just melts everything away and is gentle enough for my eye area too. You hardly need any to remove a whole face of makeup and I have just under a 1/4 tub left and have had this since February so it's lasted AGES. I just take a little of the product and massage it between my hands and then apply this all over the face. Work this into your face and once all makeup looks milky and all moved around, rinse off with a clean flannel.
I do have the large tub and it was £52.00 on a offer at the time from QVC which came with two of the Emma Hardie cleansing face flannels which are amazing to use with this. They are double sided and have a gorgeously soft fluffy side which you use to wipe the balm off, and then a grainier side to just clean everything off at the end.
I next just grab a cotton pad and apply a little of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to make sure all traces of my masacara are off and just to collect any left over balm I may not have managed to catch with the flannel. My face is then all fresh and clean and it's time to apply a little serum to refresh the skin. I am currently using the Hydraluron which is a serum that helps to rehydrate the skin. I used to find my skin just always looked flat and dull and no matter what products I used, never could get it to look any better. I never thought my skin would have been 'parched' but got this after being recommended by masses of bloggers and friends and my skin just plumped right back up. I now look like I have the skin of a 22 year old rather than a 50 year old.
If I'm having a little 'episode' of the spots, I just dab a little of the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil but obviously you can use any Tea Tree oil and it'll do the same job. I just love the dinky little bottle and it just helps to draw out the impurities of the spot and help it to just disappear.
Around 2-3 times a week I will find my face needs a little detox so I reach for the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Detox Mask which I find just helps to bring my skin back to life. Sometimes my skin just gets a little clogged from heavy makeup everyday and this product really helps to give me a fresh canvas again for the week. And that's pretty much it ...... I now again will use additional moisturisers but nothing I really stick to but these are the products I also come back to when my skin freaks out and I need some basic TLC.
