DRUGSTORE FINDS RIMMEL LASTING FINISH FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER
July 30, 2015
I'm always on the hunt for new makeup that doesn't cost me the earth so I went along to Boots to see what the latest offerings were and noticed in the Rimmel section that they had a new version of the Rimmel Lasting Finish, the new Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation Lightweight. The new lightweight formula claims to blend smoothly, evenly and covers fine lines, imperfections to give a poreless, seamless looking finish to the skin. The foundation is a fluid texture enhanced with moisturising serum gel to give you a 'no makeup' feel. It provides a natural-looking, flawless coverage without the weight of a heavy feeling foundation. The coverage remains true from morning to night with a rub and smudge resistant formula that lasts up to 25 hours. I also picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer to go with the foundation as I've been after a new concealer for a while.
NOW these are HUGE claims and I know as much as the next person that most foundations do NOT last 25 hours, especially the ones that only cost you £7.99 but the longevity of this foundation is really great for a drugstore foundation. I put this on at around 7am in the morning ready for a day at the office and it manages to withstand the office 'dew' you get and air conditioning drama too. I was really shocked when I first wore the foundation at how flawless it made my skin look and also have light feeling it really was. I bought the shade 100 Ivory which usually is the lightest shade but in this new formula, there is a Light Porcelain so it's great news for you pale ladies who love a bargain. I am quite pale but the Ivory 100 is perfect for me, for reference I wear NC15-NC20 in Mac Pro Longwear, Ecru in Estee Lauder Double Wear and Light 01 in Estee Lauder BB Double Wear Light. I apply my foundation with a damp Beauty Blender to get a flawless finish to the skin and I also feel this application helps with the colour as the Ivory can throw a teeny but too dark if I don't sheer it out a little. The problem is the Light Porcelain is a little too light for me and the Ivory is the TEENIEST bit too dark, for the price I am quite tempted to buy the Light Porcelain for an extra £7.99 and mix them together for the Autumn when my skins not slightly tanned from the summer.
I then conceal with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer using my little concealer brush, I apply the concealer straight onto any problems areas then blend out with my Beauty Blender. These two products combined literally give the most flawless, long lasting finish and I still can't believe that you can get the sort of result you can from these considering they are drugstore. If you head over to http://www.boots.com/ right now you can get Buy One Get One Half Price on Rimmel products.

I am a super fan of drugstore items because they commit such a great price & normally are pretty excellent quality. :]

It's great when you find something that's good quality and a good price too isn't it!

Oooh I wonder if this will be a good alternative for me also as I use MAC Prolongwear too (NW20). It's a shame that the shade is just not quite there but I'd love to try it! I really want to try one of those sponges too! Gorgeous photography as always hun xx
