I am a self-confessed Stationary addict, there's no questioning that. But even us addicts miss out on things .. like there's a frigging WORLD STATIONARY DAY! How did I not know this?! It's on the 25th of April 2018 and I am definitely using it as an excuse to buy more stationary to add to my collection of unused pretty notebooks, does anyone else do this?

Old English Prints* recently contacted me to see if I'd like to test out some of their stationary to celebrate and there's also a chance for you to try some too! They are celebrating this super special day by giving away not one, not two but FOUR of their gorgeous Planners from their collection featured HERE!!!* All you've got to do is email them at hello@oldenglishcompany.com with your favourite item from the site to be entered and in with a chance to win. A winner will be chosen at random on the 26th April 2018.

And as fun as stationary is, it can be vital to have when running a business. There is some stationary I physically couldn't run my business without! I've gone for a plain black and white theme as, well - that's my branding but I have pangs to get some newer, quirkier stationary. But for now, here are some of the bits I can't live without .. (prepare for your minds to be blown from boredom ...)

DIARY (PICTURED ABOVE) // PAPERCHASE
Now I used to be a Paperchase employee and it was like HEAVEN. This diary I purchased just before I left as I wanted some handbag// bag size to run around with me during Meetings with clients and for general life. It has literally fallen apart from over use and has become thicker and thicker each day due to the number of times I have to open it! So I have had to glue it back together and staple on some elastic at the back to keep it shut (PRO TIP! Just don't use a staple gun whilst holding the diary against a desk .. I don't need to paint that picture for you. A simple staple will do, trust me) but I wouldn't be without it. Although it's just black and white, the glitter PU cover makes me feel a little better about how having a boring coloured diary.

PENS // BIC BLACK CRYSTAL PEN
NOW, some of you may laugh that I use 'cheap' pens but I don't know why - I LOVE WRITING WITH THESE. They're perfect for most paper types and as they look a little more boring, no one dares take them (we're all guilty of pocketing a pen sometimes .. right?) I ended up buying a bulk pack of 50 for the business as I kept buying them for 50p singularly and then losing them. Now they're sat in a lovely little pot on my desk and I think I've only lost like two since a month ago which is pretty darn good. Although now I have so many I do find them just lying around the house.

ENVELOPE FOLDERS // PAPERCHASE & WILKOS
I used to buy these from Paperchase but have found them a little cheaper now at Wilkos (cheers guys for the affordable stationary!) These are vital as I give all my clients their contracts, invoices, and receipts all stored in one of these. They're a little bit fancier than a poly pocket and a lot easier to slide paperthe in and out of! (I told you this would be boring didn't I!)

PAPER // XEROX BUSINESS PAPER
I do like slightly thicker and more 'business' type paper for 'official' paperwork but most of the time, any A4 White paper will do (I hate off white, has to be crystal white!) I got my Xerox paper which is 80gsm from the local Post Office for around £4.99 for 500 sheets which is a little pricer for paper but I've been impressed with the quality// printing quality with it so far.

BUSINESS CARDS // VISTA PRINT
I do get asked a lot about my logo// business cards about who designed them and how people like the simplistic style. 1. I designed them and my Logo myself  2. I was inspired by my boyfriend as I recently redesigned his works business logo and business cards as they wanted a 'American Psycho' theme to them. (If you've not seen the film, I did last week and didn't really enjoy it that much BUT the business cards are super simple black and white but they have a competition over who has embossed text and the off-white colour// density of their cards .. it's pretty funny) I love black and white and the clean layout of my cards and in the future, I may change them but I like that if I wanted to change my branding slightly by adding in some colour, these could still work as long as my logo doens't change (it won't anytime soon as I paid £22 for a custom logo stamp which I love!)

Is there any stationary you couldn't survive without?! Make sure you head over to the competition page https://oldenglishprints.com/pages/competition-win-a-set-of-planners for your chance to win those beautiful planners, I have one in my basket already!
